The garden and greenery in general played a major part in the conception of the house. The owner specifically requested a garden courtyard and a koi pond, thus the swimming pool was placed on top of the building. The natural dark timber surfaces complement the lush flora of the property, with marble and granite lending mass and density to the structure. There is a terrace in close proximity to the plantlife, with transparent glass protecting it from rain.

It's a modern, two-story home, defined by rectangular shapes, with a unique twist to its facade. The front and sides of the lower story are entirely clad in mirror-like panels, reflecting the woodland environment surrounding the house. Consequently, the second story appears to be floating in mid-air.

Stockholm based architecture firm Tham + Videgard Arkitekter created a magical tree hotel in Harads, a village close to the Arctic Circle. “The Tree Lover” tale by Jonas Selberg Augustsen, which tells the story of the connection between humans and trees, was the main inspiration for the architects. The moral of the story became the main objective during the design process: the architects aimed at creating a smooth transition between the natural environment and the hotel.
