Instead of OSB (oriented strand board) or plywood, which soaks up moisture when exposed to the elements during the build, we installed high-density, engineered wood subflooring infused with water-resistant resins to make sure that never happens at our Idea House. It does a better job of holding floor fasteners securely in place, helping to reduce nail pops, preventing floor bounce, and getting rid of pesky squeaks.
