Surrealism is a cultural movement that began in the early 1920s.Opposed to reason and logic, Surrealism was inspired by dreams, chaos, and the combination of unlikely elements. Reflecting the turmoil of the mind and the political world, artists such as Salvador Dali, Giorgio de Chirico, and Man Ray defied traditional notions of beauty and aesthetics.
